Sansuishi

On the bay of the great river flowing on for all eternity,

 my thoughts are dedicated to only one person
To value everything equally that is what my beloved teacher taught me
He was both, gentle and strong

While I’m slowly walking through the glen,

the mountains around me color crimson red
I kept the conflicts of the world away from me,

 biding awhile in a painting on a sheet of paper

Lured by a sweet scent,

 my eyes are suddenly drawn to
A peach flower in fullness of bloom,

untouched by the changing seasons

Unable to find what I am looking for I become aware

 that I don’t belong in this place
If only the one I loved was here,

 we would become two trees to stand together through all times

Is this flower I see only a dream?

 I’m riding the wind, to the peak of the clouds
Looking down on this world,

 I realize that my clock is still ticking

Everything in heaven and earth.

After I did what must be done
will they take me in, when I finally achieved my aim ?

 The beautiful scenery along the river.
